Former AARP President and immediate past CEO of the American Geriatrics Society, Jennie Chin Hansen, RN, MSN, will be the third speaker this year in the popular series, “Active Aging: Live Your Best Life Now,” to be held at Vintage House on Thursday, November 3, from 1:30 – 3:00 pm. The series is sponsored by Sonoma Valley Hospital and Vintage House to provide insights and information on healthy aging.

This talk is titled “Family Caregiving – Been There…Am There…Will Be There,” and is recommended to anyone who currently serves as a caregiver for a loved one or will become one in the future. Hansen will discuss how 80 percent of longer-term care of loved ones is provided by family members and friends, and how caregivers can access information and support they need to handle this role. She will also identify predictable issues that emerge in caregiving, and discuss policy, programs and services that increasingly shape the healthcare landscape.

Hansen currently serves as a senior strategic advisor to the American Geriatrics Society, and as a board member of the SCAN Foundation, Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), the Dignity Health System, The SCAN HealthPlan and The Altarum Institute.

Please RSVP to Vintage House at 707-996-0311, or info@vintagehouse.org; or to Celia Kruse de la Rosa, SVH, at 707-935-5257, or ckrusedelarosa@sonomavalleyhospital.org. Vintage House is located at 264 1st Street East, in Sonoma. There is no cost to attend and light refreshments will be provided.
