It’s not uncommon to develop aches and pains as we age, but unless they become acute, we usually choose to just live with them. Addressing these nagging painful conditions is the purpose of a new Sonoma Valley Hospital program, called the “Aches and Pains Clinic,” which is being offered to Sonoma residents without cost.
The program provides help in two ways. First, through a one-hour community lecture series conducted by a Hospital Physical Therapist, Marek Grzybowski, who will explain common reasons why we experience pain and discuss the range of treatment options, including simple things you can do on your own, such as learning how to better cope with stress, improve body mechanics so you can exercise safely without injury, or deal effectively with mild arthritis.
Then participants can sign up for a no-cost private screening at a later date during which a Hospital Physical Therapist will help you assess the cause of your pain and identify treatment options. Attendance at the lecture is required before signing up for a private screening.
Following are dates and times for the lecture series, which will be held in the Hospital’s basement conference room.
