As part of its Active Aging Series, Sonoma Valley Hospital is offering a series of weekly classes for seniors in November focusing on “Achieving Better Balance.” The free classes will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on November 5, 13, 19 and 26 in the hospital’s basement conference room.

The series will be led by physical therapists, Joanna Brown and Michael Francisco, who will cover a number of topics including:

  • Setting realistic goals for staying active at any age
  • Learning how to stay safe at home
  • Exercises to increase strength and balance
  • How to identify and control your fear of falling.
